Top 7 Thanksgiving Tablescape Tips
The holidays are the perfect time to pull out all of the stops with holiday decor, starting with your tablescape. Here are seven easy steps to ensure that will have your guest oohing and ahhning and naming you the hostest the mostest!!
Linens/Tablecloths
Go formal or go home lol, well not really; bring out the beautiful tablecloths and table covers. I personally love a formal white linen tablecloth. It provides an elevated look to your tablescape.
Centerpiece
The centerpiece is the second but most important step. It is the focal point of your table setting and allows you to build a fun dining experience around it.
Serveware
Set out all of your fine serveware. If you have a particular platter, dish or salad bowl or serving dish you want to be the highlight of your dinner, place in a central area of your table.
Flatware/Cutlery
the easiest etiquette and setting tip for flatware is placing them in the order in which they will be used first.
Napkins
If you’re like me, let’s go the extra mile. Place the napkin in a nice fold on the plate or in a glass. (napkin holders and/or accent sprigs are optional)
Drinkware/Glasses
The appealing element of a nice tablescape is the drinkware. Set out drinking glasses for water and wine glass for sparkling cider or wine. Place your glasses at the top right of your plate
Place Card
Adding place cards will deem you the ultimate hostess with the mostest. If you enjoy hosting and entertaining, adding a place card makes your guest feel welcomed and adds a personalized touch. If you do not have a specific name then holiday themed place cards are appropriate.
